We started from B, with the girls from school. Two years ago we reached the playoffs and, at the last moment, we guarantee the A2. Last year, with a little more careful planning but always without too much fuel in the tank, we get to the playoffs again, e, always daringly to the last point, we arrive at A1. This year we set ourselves some goals: the first is to stay in A1. The arrival of the new main sponsor, FALCONERS, it allowed us to plan the team more accurately. And the season was set up in this sense: you need to gain experience, which will come in time. Primary objective, Therefore, salvation.
After the trip to Genoa, but even more so after the previous one in Rome in which an unfortunate point lost at the tie break risked ruining the entire season, morale was certainly not very high. Our hopes were hanging by the thread of a possible play-off, precisely with TC Genoa, with whom we would have been equal on points by winning in Verona. There are many things that unite us with that club; among others the need to compete for a place in the top women's tennis championship. Meanwhile the captain, teacher Meruzzi, he had positive feelings; but he was careful not to tell anyone.
This time we play on our fields and in our balls. We knew their number one, obviously called, it would have been practically unplayable: Lucia Bronzetti, FIT ranking 1.5, ranking WTA 57, it would have brought the Genoese club a safe point; but the day would be long and our double, Moratelli/Zantedeschi, he doesn't take lessons from anyone. We knew it would be a day of cheering and suffering. Of tennis, In short, and that never scared us ;)
We lose the single with Bronzetti, but we win the other two, with two superlative performances by our Moratelli and Zantedeschi. Double comes: if we win we go to the play-off, if we lose it's over. TC Genoa brings Bronzetti/Valente into play. But there's nothing to be done: in the second set our girls end the day "official" balancing the scores. Everything will be played in a double, two sets and a long tie break that will count, one way or another, the entire season for both clubs.
How did it go? At 10 of the evening, Valente scores a passer along the line on Moratelli at the net: 10/6 at the tie break of the third set. After 12 hours on the pitch we won.

Our women's A1 team, the FALCONERI ATV, he achieved the goal of salvation, guaranteeing their presence in the top league for next season. A hoped-for and difficult result, but also wanted with all my energy, and this made the difference. E, For the third time (B/A2, A2/A1), the result came true, curiously, always in a playoff match: 12 hours of tennis, and finally a decisive tie break ended 10/6.
